It all started with the love of preserving family memories.

Kathy Hendrickson and her three daughters, Kris, Stephanie and Lisa, wanted to start their own business together, but it had to be something they would all enjoy . One night during a scrapbooking party they talked about how hard it was to find all their favorite scrapbook products at just one store. In January of 1997 they decided to persue their love of scrapbooking by opening Paper Creations.

Early on they wanted their store to be unique. They have never tried to imitate any other stores. A great location in Salt Lake City just minutes from the historic Sugarhouse shopping district was found. Paper Creations is in a shopping mall called The Brickyard Plaza. The complex is in a well-established Neighborhood filled with homes, parks, shops and restaurants. The soft colors, bright lighting, fresh flowers and wood cabinets add to the store’s homey atmosphere. Kathy said “We wanted a place where people could escape from all other distractions” While inside you will hear many of the customers comment on the decor and layout of the store. Kris says “around every turn is something new to discover, it’s easy to loose yourself and just be creative”

All Paper Creations’ employees are scrapbook and stamping enthusiasts. They are educated in the latest techniques and jump at the chance to help with questions. The employees also teach many of the classes that are held weekly in the store. Paper Creations has had special guest teachers, such as Deborah Jenis from Accu-Cut and Carol Snider from EK Success. To insure customer service is a top priority, one or more of the four owners are present during business hours. Stephanie says “we do work long hours, but our shoppers seem more like friends then customers. It makes the work we do enjoyable.”

Paper Creations has a full line of invitations and custom printing services that are perfect for parties, wedding, birth announcements and much more. Lisa says “our custom printing services and full line of invitations allow everyone the opportunity to express their creative side”.

When Paper Creations opened their doors they occupied 1,200 sq. feet and they now have grown to 7,000 sq. feet. They carry creative scrapbooking products and an extensive line of paper, stickers, stamps, stamping supplies, gifts and invitations. They are on a continual search to find unique and unusual products that make their store like no other.
